Solar Cooking
Well I'm giving a demonstration on solar cooking tomorrow. I built this solar funnel cooker a month ago and have been trying different things. I've boiled water in an hour, made carrots and potatoes in 2hrs, made rice in 1.5 hrs, and today I tried biscuits. They have been cooking for an hour now and are not quite done, so here I am just waiting for them.

Spring Cleaning, Garden, and Yard!!!!!
I have to say I have a busy few weeks cut out for me. Since I was unmotivated last year for spring cleaning (because I was pregnant) I am two years behind instead of one!!!! I can say that every fan blade is white again, the baseboards don't look grungy, the floor under the fridge and stove are clean and I definitely feel better about myself....whenever the house is clean, I feel at ease!!!!
Lets just say I haven't made it to the Garden, let alone the yard. I think I would rather be outside getting these two thing taken care of first if it wasn't so dang cold, windy, and rainy :( At this rate, I'm thinking middle of may.

I love this Man!!!
Honeydew's aren't his favorite (only because he would rather be snowmobiling on his day off) but he loves seeing his wife happy, so it's worth it!!!

Making Hair Bows
I've always wanted to make hair bows but didn't know if I would have the patience.... Well Saturday I drove down to Logan to see my friend Lisa and we split the price of supplies. One of her friends was suppose to show us the secrets of making bows, but she wasn't able to make it, so I taught Lisa how to make flower clips and headbands.
Today I went on line and found some instructions on how to make different kinds of bows.....this is my first attempt and I think I did an okay job...ha ha!!!!
Now that I know I've made a few bows...there will be more where that came from. So far these are the bows and flowers I've made...I'm feeling pretty proud and this bow making business will definitely get easier...ha ha!
I'm always looking for tips and new Idea's so.......

Puppy Door!!!!
Yet Another Project....
A few weeks ago, Allen and I decided to put in a puppy door so I wouldn't have to let Maggie in and out 20 times a day and if we went somewhere for the night, she could stay home!!!!
Allen cut the holes, put in the doors and built the ramp. I'm so glad I don't have to get involved with those things, and that he can just handle it.
My job was to teach the scared little puppy to use the door. She got the Idea of coming in that afternoon, but still insisted on going to the door to be let out...which is only normal considering I had only taught her that way for 6 months.
Now that a few weeks have gone by, I can officially say.....She gets the puppy door and I am spoiled. She goes in and out as she pleases. It's Wonderful!!!

A baby rag quilt...
I bought some really cute quilting fleece fat quarters the other day and wanted to use it. I haven't made a rag quilt in a while so.......
Just a note, "Making a rag quilt is really easy if you've done it before and pretty easy if you haven't", but the part that's hard for me is piecing. Usually I get a paper and make a pattern, but today I decided to cut all the pieces and lay them quickly out on the counter. Well two hours later the pieces are still NOT were I want them. Go figure....quick and easy.....what is that???
