A FAMILY THAT PLAYS TOGETHER.....STAYS TOGETHER!!!!!

I'VE heard this saying but never thought it would become the family THEME...... The "PLAY" part definitely takes precedence. We love ALLEN!!!!!

Being a Mom

Look at these faces.  Well they melt my heart, and I can't imagine life without them, but that doesn't mean that my patience isn't tried. We all have hard days, right??.  I get overwhelmed at how some days play out.   I strive to be the best mom I can everyday but it's so hard to never get frustrated,  tired or act just like your 2 year old (throwing a fit and all).  I want to be the best mom and a great example of love and compassion and never loose it. Let's face it, I can't do it alone but with Heavenly Fathers help I  sure can!!!  I need to remember to call on him more during the day for  help when I find myself like in these kind of situations.

I read this on a blog I follow and it was the  inspiration I needed after a hard day. (I am not the only one trying to figure this out) and that always makes me feel better.   Today was a rough one.  Addie cried at the drop of a hat today.  Livi had a rough day nursing.  Both babies were crying together a lot today.  Crying drains me emotionally and physically.  It's nice to be reminded where my focus need to be...Thank you Whitney for your post
"Tonight was a rocky one! It was a very noisy/emotional night at the Vrska's. At one point I had Kingston at one end of the house screaming and Taelee at the other crying that she wanted to get out of ACT (attitude change time). It was one of those nights that had me wondering if I am doing anything right as a mother?! Taelee had a melt down over something so small, and it quickly escalated when I put her into timeout. I turned on "If the Savior Stood Beside Me", and then went back to her after a few minutes. Aha moment number one, I knelt down by Taelee and asked her to say a prayer to invite the spirit back into her heart. Kingston heard the word "pray" and quickly dropped what he was doing and knelt down beside me and folded his arms. How grateful I was for that sweet boy and the effect of peaceful music at that moment! Aha moment number two came when I was kissing Taelee good night. She said, "Mom, why do we cry?" I gave a simple answer, when we get upset or are sad. She interrupted me and said, "No Mom, why do we cry?" She wanted the scientific reason of why we cry. Tonight I remembered how analytical her little brain is. I am so grateful for my little sponge of knowledge, and because of that It is my responsibility to teach her all the good I know! I am grateful to be a mother. I am grateful for the push that it gives me to be a better person and to do a little better every day."

It really helps me when I know I'm not the only one that has hard days.

Is it always easy? NO! Is it worth it? YES!  There really is nothing better in the world than being a mom!!!!!

This is what I'm talking about

I can't remember where I came upon this article, but I really liked it.  I really hit home right now.  I have a newborn again and I needed someone else to say it like it really is besides me.   I thought it was a great post to share.

Motherhood 101: The First Year

The summer of babies is upon us.
I thought I’d start compiling a list – for me to revisit and read when I’m in sleep-deprived psychosis, flying off the handle at every little thing, weeping over the dirt on my floor, and telling the cat that I’m going to sell him because he’s such an obnoxious freak of nature.
And for the other new moms out there who are at this very moment yelling at their pets and spouses, wondering if they will ever feel normal again.
I’ll start with the very practical.
1. Don’t be quiet when the baby is sleeping. Do not tiptoe or whisper or do anything equally stupid.  Train that little bug to sleep through ANYTHING.  Live your life at normal volume – vacuum, watch TV, talk on the phone, open and close doors.  Just keep living.
2. Don’t “save” the cute clothes.  They grow so fast.  Put them in your favorite outfit as often as you can – because before you know it you’ll be an weepy mess, sniffling as you put it in the attic, regretting every time you “saved it” and went with something that was “okay to get dirty.”
3.  When your brand new little one starts crying in the grocery store (or in church, or at a funeral), don’t worry.  It’s not nearly as loud as you think.  You will be so worried about being “that mom” with the screaming kid that you’ll get stressed and sweaty over what sounds like, to everyone else, an innocent, raspy little newborn cry.  Wait ’til they’re 2.  Then they are as loud as you think.
4. It is much easier to take the whole mattress out of the crib to put new sheets on it – then just plop it back in.  You’ll break a sweat, pull six muscles, and curse trying to cram your hands between the mattress and the crib slats.
5. Your body has done a nearly impossible thing – give it some grace.  It might not ever look like it did when you were 19 (a moment of silence, please), but it grew, accomodated, nurtured, and birthed another human being.  Anatomically, it’s staggering and nothing short of miraculous.  So rest assured, soft is beautiful.  Motherhood is beautiful.  Your body stepped up to the plate and did the most important thing when it mattered.  Give your body some grace. (And with some hard work and a year or so’s time, you can get back to a slightly softer version of normal – new normal.)
6.  A long time ago, I was visiting with my Grandma Harness and we were watching my cousin Daniel.  He was just a tiny infant at the time and throwing quite a fit.  After patiently changing him, feeding him, swaddling him, burping him, and singing to him, he was still in a tizzy.  Grandma laid him lovingly in his bouncer, looked at me and said, “Isn’t he so adorable?”  I looked at screamy, red-faced Daniel and just laughed nervously, to which Grandma replied,
“You know, Kate, sometimes babies just cry.”
This from a nurse, and a woman who raised five healthy, happy, successful children (incidentally baby Daniel was my aunt’s fifth child, too).  My gentle Grandma’s words helped me so many times to look at Madeline affectionately instead of desperately, lovingly instead of angrily.
7.  I overheard my mother encouraging a tired new mom, and I never forgot, “Don’t waste a minute worrying about whether or not you’re ‘doing it wrong.’  You can’t.  However you hold him is “how mom holds him.” Your baby knows your method of doing things.  You cannot change him wrong or soothe him wrong.  The ultimate comfort is mommy – and you’re it.”
8.  Don’t let anyone lead you to believe that motherhood is easy, that infants are easy.  That is BULL. HOCKEY.  There will be moms of elementary school kids, perpetually irritated moms of apathetic teenagers, and sweet elderly ladies that will coo over your baby and say things like, “I remember when mine were that little.”  “Enjoy it while it lasts.”  “I wish I could go back.”
It is all very sweet – but they only say it because they’ve forgotten what it feels like to sleep in 40-minute-intervals for 6 months.  Women who look at two-year-olds and sigh dreamily have TOTALLY forgotten what it’s like to live with a two-year-old 24 hours a day.
There are mommy bloggers out there who write enthusiastic, chipper posts about cloth diapering and the magic of breastfeeding, and they are all liars – at least liars by omission.  Breastfeeding is magical, but it ain’t for sissies.  It hurts like the dickens for a while, it’s exhausting, it’s enormously inconvenient.  You will hear people say that babies are blessings, a heritage from the Lord.  While this is absolutely true, don’t for ONE SECOND think that you’re a terrible person for wanting to set your “blessing” out on the front porch for the night because he just. won’t. stop. crying.   Don’t let the glowing mothers psych you out.  Know that they, too, are just trying to put their best foot forward.  They’re trying to encourage you – give you some perspective and some hope.  But let’s be straight for two seconds: Motherhood is the most precious, wonderful thing I’ve done with my life to date.  It’s also the hardest.
9.  Advocate for your baby.   Just like before you were a mom, you will be obligated to attend work, school, church, and social functions.  You will have people counting on you to be somewhere, like a wedding or a funeral or some other once-in-a-lifetime thing.  And there WILL BE times when these expectations clash with the needs of your baby.  Trying to find an achievable balance feels treacherous, and like a lose-lose situation.  You either disappoint people you care about, miss out on special occasions, risk being misunderstood and possibly whispered about – or you suffer the agony of knowing you didn’t do what was best for your baby.
I remember the tightrope feeling well, as Madeline was born just before Christmas.  Relatives whom we wouldn’t see again for a full year “needed” to hold her.  I “needed” to be at a variety of church, community, and family functions.  I remember Madeline being passed around the room from one adoring person to the next – and when she started to cry, each person would take a turn trying to comfort her.  I only got a turn when Madeline was SO worked up and miserable that she’d become totally inconsoleable – then it was time to pass her to mom.  I remember sitting in a back bedroom with my hot, over-stimulated newborn, nursing her and whispering to her that I was so, so sorry.  That it wasn’t fair – that it was simply too much and I didn’t speak up for her.  I’ve been bummed about missing the occasional wedding or party, but that’s the kind of thing you bounce back from pretty quickly – c’est la vie.  I’ve deeply regretted it, on the other hand, every time I didn’t advocate for my baby.
I’m not saying be a shrew and hole yourself up in your house until your kid is 6 – but you’ll know when it’s too much.  You’ll know because you’ll feel like you’re about to die.  You will know when being home in your baby’s safe, familiar place is more important than anything else going on that day.  Your baby cannot speak up for herself – so you must advocate for her.  It’s okay to look all the expectations and obligations, disappointment and disapproval in the face and say, “No.  We need to go home now.”
10.  And finally, rest assured that every other mother’s house has been as dirty as yours is, probably worse.  I’ve recited the last stanza of a poem called “Song for a Fifth Child” by Ruth Hulbert Hamilton to myself a thousand times.  It calms down my racing mind long enough to make me sit still – and be fully present for my daughter.
…The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

And that’s all I got.  Except for pray a lot and take all the help you can get.

I came across these cleaning tips and liked them...

So I thought I would share.  Here is the complete blog post if you want to explore, Click here.

I have a similar system for cleaning my house like this, but I think this is a really good idea to have  a chart for each day so you don't get overwhelmed.   Especially being 33 weeks pregnant it's getting harder to do anything!!!!!

MONDAY
(Monday is cheating because it is 3 chores...but they aren't as big as the other ones so you can squeeze more in.)
  • Laundry day. Always keep your machines running.  Start first thing in the morning and consciously keep loads going throughout the day. Set an alarm in your phone if you have to. Fold laundry at night watching TV with the hubby. Make sure all clothes are put away before you go to bed.
  • Tidy house. Go through every room in your house and put everything away.
    • Tip: Never leave a room empty-handed! As you walk throughout the house ALWAYS pick at least one thing up as you come/go. Your house will be picked up before you know it.
  • Vacuum main rooms (not bedrooms or stairs). As you walk through the house picking things up, drag a vacuum behind you. **NOTE: I vacuum a lot because I have a dog that sheds. You may not need to vacuum as much as I choose to do.
TUESDAY
  • Bathrooms. Everything: toilet, tub/shower, replace towels and wash clothes, sink, floors, wipe out drawers/cabinets, mirror, re-stock toilet paper/fresh towel supply. Spray some good smelling stuff in there when you are done. The satisfaction is amazing.
WEDNESDAY
  • Surfaces. All surfaces: anything that can be dusted, mopped, swept, wiped, vacuumed, etc.
    • For me this included counter tops, windows, banisters, floors, microwave, kitchen sink, wiping down kitchen chairs, dusting and wiping all mantles/shelves/dressers/night stands/etc.,  wiping the top of the fridge, and vacuuming my floors, couches and stairs.
THURSDAY
  • Organize/clean out something. This can be a closet, your car, your child's toy box, your makeup drawer, pick one thing and don't stop until it's clean/organized.
FRIDAY
  • Tidy the house (Go through every room in your house...and never leave a room empty-handed!)
  • Vacuum (all rooms including stairs.)

Five movies I'll drop everything to watch

Today I was reading a post on the Pioneer Woman, which I love by the way, and I decided to answer the question my self.  "What five movies would I drop everything to watch?"

1.  The Man from Snowy River

"I'll be back for them and whatever else is mine......" She's not for you lad, He's not a lad brother, he's a man!!!!  The man from snowy river!!!!!
This is my all time favorite movie.  I have a lot of all time favorites, but This one leads the pack in that category!!!!

2.  Secretariat

"I've run my race, now it's your turn to run yours!!"  I know this movie isn't an old one, but every time I get sucked into this goody, I get so emotional.  My one dream would be to have a horse farm and be apart of this life (here's for living through something, right!)

3.  Ann of Green Gables & Ann of Avenly

I have the best memories of siting in the the back room with grandma, both of us on the same chair, (an old green rocker that spun) and watching movies...especially this one.

4.  State Farm (the 1945 version) & Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

I posted these together on #4 because I always think of these two movies together.  I don't know why, maybe it's because I always watched them close to each other.  You know afternoons with grandma will do that to ya!!!!

 5. Gone with the Wind

I love this movie, and I always will even though sometimes it makes me so mad!!!  I just want to change the ending (and everything that let up to it) , then it would be perfect....but I know, I know, that's the lesson we must all learn sometimes!!

Random Thoughts I had Today!!!

Allen wasn't feeling good last night, and then when he woke up this morning, he still wasn't.  We think he has another kidney stone brewing.  He was grouchy, and I guess I would be too, so we didn't have our normal morning routine. We lay in bed, Addison plays with her toys, and we just catch up on what's happening for the day.  I made his lunch and then Addison and I went out to work in the garden.  He left and didn't say anything.  We're not mad at each other, but I guess we're having an unspoken tiff.    (a common woman thing to do, can we get rid of some of these hormones...ha ha) When this happens I tend to reflect on what inspires me to be and do better.  I think, "how can I change me for the better"

Here are some random thoughts I had this morning while taking it out on the weeds!!!!

I was brushing up on a book the other day, remember reading this quote, and it really hit home...AGAIN!!

"If we are to develop an intimate relationship, we need to know each others desires.  If we wish to love each other, we need to know what the other person wants."
                                                                                                           -Gary Chapman

I remind myself often that President Hinckley always said, "repetition is a law of learning".  Work, dedication,  and sacrifice will never fail you!!!  That's what this life is really about, we will make mistakes, but it's what you do after that...do you learn from them or do you do them again...that is the question!!

I always thought that if you know better, then you do better.  As I watched Oprah this last season, her 25th...the only one I've ever watched, I guess this was her saying too, so she can have to credit since I thought it and shaped my actions around it, but didn't voice it.  Ha Ha!!!

My parents were really good at teaching us kids to, "worry about ourselves".  I've taken that a step further to not being hypocritical.  I get mad inside that Allen doesn't hang his work shirts up or put his pants back in the drawer, or other stupid little things, but then I don't do it sometimes either, so I can't get mad at him!!!

We can't work on everything at once or we just get overwhelmed and nothing changes.  Choose the one that enables you to help the others seem easier.

I love these quotes!!!!!

I have this quote on my fridge so that it will speak to me every morning...

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is, It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us."--President Gordon B. Hinckley

I posted this on my Facebook Status yesterday and I really do think this Idea is what helps me move forward....
We spend our days waiting for the ideal path to appear in front of us, but what we forget is that paths are made by walking, not by waiting.

Stuck indoors waiting for Summer. Maybe it will come soon!!!! I'm having douts though.....

2 1/2 weeks ago we had a few day of sun and then we went back to rain, snow and cold wind :(.  We are still at that point...Mommy and Addie are going stir-crazy.  I know the sun is finally going to come and it's going to be 90, but I'll complain about that later.   We just want warm, sun shining days!!!

Allen said to me the other day, "we're gonna have to get us another external hard drive just for all the pictures...." I agreed with him, that is just what I want, oh and a new camera too!!!  Maybe for Xmas??

Jimmer Fever......Not me!!!!

I think all this Jimmer talk is gonna make me sick!!!!!!
He is a great player for his age but let's not let his head get to big to fast.  We're beating a dead horse here!!!!!
He's been played up enough to where he might not come through and then his spirit might break.   Let's keep him a bit humble people, yes you're at fault not him!!!  I know it's BYU's big break AND ALL but their gonna blow it...they always do and if they don't MIRACLE!!!!!!!

(I know I'm gonna catch crap for this....that's why I postED it here and not on face-book!!)
  JUST SAYING.................

I LOVE IT WHEN.............

I am getting Addison dressed and she tries to eat everything especially her shoes.

I get to watch her develop and grow.  She is playing with her toys and I know pretty soon she is going to be crawling all over!!!!

We are almost home from running errands and she falls asleep before I can lay her down, but I can't help but think how cute she is.

The mommy's girl thing kicks in sometimes and all she wants is to be with me every minute.  I don't always have to be holding her, she just needs to be really close.  On fast Sunday I get to get her dressed and do her hair (every other Sundays I go to choir while she takes a nap then Daddy gets her ready).

I made bread the other day and she didn't want to sit in her highchair, but on the counter right by where I was working!  Her new thing is she wants to sit on the desk when I'm on the computer.  It's okay with me cause I can get something done just a bit faster even though she tries to be involved in everything mommy is doing.

The Twilight Frinzy

I never got "caught up" in reading the Twilight saga.  I just figured I would watch the movies then I wouldn't know what I was missing. I've even been about a year behind on them to.  I just watched eclipse and was really wanting to see what happened next.  I decided that I could read the last book since I knew most of the characters, and they already had a face in my head.  Well how was I suppose to know that Breaking Dawn was 756pages. I went to the Library, checked it out and you know the rest...it was history...I finished it in a few days!!!!

All my friends (you know who you are), but to name one, CORTNIE(my kindred spirit), think I'm nuts for not reading the books, but now I can see why. It was a really fun, entertaining book to read.   I'm sure I missed a lot of detail from the other books so maybe I'll go back and read them.  I'm leaving that one open!!

Growing !!!!

Today I noticed that Addisons hair is growing in and getting darker.  She still has blond and red highlights, but it was really cool that I noticed.  Yesterday she was officially 6 months.  Where has the time gone????  We are sure enjoying her.  She likes to give me hugs, talk really loud with mommy, and is a really good eater.  She love her walker, aka, her race car....soon enough.

I just gave myself a kick in the bum!!!

I have GOT to whip myself into SHAPE....

Since Addie was born, I haven't kept up on things like I usually do. Cleaning brings me a lot of satisfaction because,   I love the smell of bleach and a clean atmosphere...I still have that, I've just slacked MORE in the last 6 months.  It's caught up with me!! (I'm officially going crazy now)

I always felt productive, but now I have to work hard at it every day.  Xmas is still up...that has never happened, My floors haven't been mopped in two weeks...that never happened before the baby, and I've been wanting to make some curtain's for weeks...still haven't.  The list goes on and on....I know that if the laundry waits a day , it's okay but there is always room for improvement on priorities.  I love the talk from Dallin H. Oaks, "Good, Better, Best--there are a lot of good decisions but there are always better and best decisions we can make.  So My goals for the next six months are getting back into my great habits I had and building  new better or best habits!!!!!

Ready for High Chair............

Today was exciting and sad.  My Baby is growing.  Can I slow her down a bit?  Whenever I'm doing something in the kitchen, I put Addison in her car seat so she can be close and watch me.  She started lifting her head up to see what was going on even more.  I decided that was a good sign that she was ready for the highchair.  So, I pulled it out and  put it together.  We put her in it and she loved it.  She could see and there was a tray of toys right in front of her.  What more could she want, except for me holding her, nothing.  Then we decided to try cereal.  It wasn't to bad.  She didn't spit it all out, but did give a, "what is this mom", face!!!!  We tried it again today, and I think she is going to like it.  We hope she doesn't change her mind.  I'm going to list some things I don't want to forget.

At the end of 4 months (almost 5)
  • Addison loves me to sing to her.  At church when the organ starts playing and I and everyone starts singing, so does she.  It is the cutest thing.  Grandma, she's going to be a singer!!!!
  • Whenever Addie puts her hands by my mouth I start kissing them.  Now she is starting to put touch my face and it's like she wants me to kiss them.
  • After she eats and burbs, we have a chat for about 10-15 minutes.  She really talks to me and we sing too.  I feel so good happy and love having such a interactive baby.
  • She kicks and waves her arms when she's happy...especially in the morning when she wakes up and when I take her diaper off.
  • She knows  when I walk into the room and then when I lean over the crib to talk to her or say good morning (I say good morning whenever she wakes up from sleeping), she smiles and wiggles cause she's so happy to see me.
  • She grabs her toys and they go straight to her mouth, of course, then she tries to move them around in the air.  (it is so fun to see how she develops...how she is trying to get her brain and motor skills together)
  • Addison is recognizing her name.  When I address her she looks up and it's as if she knows I'm talking to her.
  • She is really following sounds.  She will turn in the direction they come from.
  • This baby goes to bed between 6:30 and 7pm and wakes up between 6 and 6:30am and then goes back to bed until 8:30 or so.  She has two, 2 hr naps, 10am and 2pm. We've had this schedule for over a month now. She is a good little sleeper because she has a persistent momma.
I can't imagine not being a mom.  It brings the greatest joys already and she's only 5 months.  I love her so much and she has the cutest kissable checks ever

    Very Thankful !!!!

I was just thinking about how blessed I am.  I have a cute little family... and wonderful husband and a beautiful baby I can't live without.  We are happy and healthy.  We have a warm place to live and food to eat.  Most of all I have to gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.  With it I don't feel lost or without a purpose.  I watched this Mormon Message about Thanksgiving the other day...it just inspired me.  Whenever I'm feeling  down or a little stressed I think of all these wonderful Blessing and how much the Lord has given me and my family.  GIVE THANKS AND REMEMBER HOW BLESSED WE REALLY ARE!!!!

    I just can't get enough

I thought Addison was stubborn before she was born, and I was right....even more so now that she has reached 3 months.  Well she does comes from long LINES (that's right all the way around) of stubbornness so there really isn't any surprise there.   She is a happy baby unless there is patience involved and then she really lets me have it.  We love her so much and we are so glad we get to see her grow and change.

What mom, you always want to take my picture!!!!

Don't let him fool you...I change her and then he finished snapping her up.  One of these days daddy will get to change a diaper.  (he would if I asked him to, I just haven't yet.  He says he'll throw up....I don't want to clean both right now cause I really think he would.)

Motherhood: An Eternal Partnership with God

I have needed some inspiration these last couple of weeks being a new momma and all.  This video really does encourage you to press on in a work that isn't always easy.  I am so grateful for leaders hear on earth that are called to offer wisdom and support in times when we must endure.

I love my little girl, Addie and would never trade being a mom for anything, but I definitely need angles to help me along the way.  The most worthwhile things in life are always the hardest right!!!!

One of my favorite chapters in the Doctrine and Covenants is section 6 verses 36 which says, "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not fear not" and 13, "If thou wilt do good, yea, and hold out faithful to the end, thou shalt be saved in the kingdom of god"

    The Time has come...............

Went to the doctor today and I'm dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced.....So, I'm headed to the hospital at 5pm to be induced.  This could be a long night or a decent one.  I guess we'll see.  I hope it's not bad, but then that's everyone's wish, right.

How I'm feeling........I would like to think that I'm going to be tough, but I'm a bit nervous.  I don't deal with pain very well, even though I have had a few painful experiences.  I decided though that she is going to come sooner or later and I would rather it be sooner....and I don't want to miss my doctor who goes out of town in 2 days for a week.  So, I know the pain is coming, but worth it right.....I want that fast forward button from the movie CLICK.  No such luck so I guess I will try not to die and wait for the day to pass.

I can't believe it, by tomorrow about this time we will have a baby.  Allen says that after tomorrow we just can't leave the baby at home like we do the puppy...ha ha!! Yes Allen life is going to change.  He's excited but I know that baby stuff is all new to this guy.  He will be a great dad though, he just doesn't know it yet, but I do!!!!!!!!

Life is good even though I have a bump in the road........

My Mama taught me well....but I also took it to heart!!!!!

I rarely watch talk shows but today I turned the TV on and there was Oprah.   She had Jamie Oliver (the food revolution guy) on her show today.  He is trying to convince  America  they need to eat better...Eat real food he says!!! He is a food guy, not a diet guy.

It was just crazy to me what they showed American's eating and feeding there kids......PROCESSED :( :( :(   That is disgusting to eat that crap regularly. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I just thought it was common sense to make food that you knew the ingredients and to also eat fruits and veggies.

For Example:         Making mashed potatoes from real potatoes vs. instant potatoes.....there's like 20 ingredients
Baking something in the oven verses frying immersed in oil.
Making Chicken Nuggets vs. buying the processed who knows whats in them nuggets
Eating apples and string cheese instead of chips and crackers all the time
Making Pizza at home and not buying the frozen card board pizza.

If you can't tell I'm ANTI processed!!!!!   Don't get me wrong, I have it every once in a while and even crave it from time to time....don't ask me why....but I never feel good afterwords.  Therefore I try not to make a habit of it.

I'm so glad that I had a mom that taught me not to rely on processed foods, but how to make things myself.....also to live the law of health. (if we all lived that better, we wouldn't have as many problems)  Everything that Jamie Oliver said on Oprah's show today was common sense to me.  It almost made me feel proud that I have a strong point and someone else agreed with me!!!

Allen is going to be a great Dad!!!

We were in Gooding at Allen's mom's house (Sandra's) this weekend.  It was cold, windy, rainy, and even got snow. Are you kidding me, SnOw!!!

Allen mowed the lawn while the girls went into town.  Maggie normally just stays inside, but she really wanted to be outside with Allen.  Sandra doesn't have a fence, so he put her on the lawn mower with him.  This was still going on when we got home.  It was hilarious!!!  I thought I would share because I found this so funny.

I got to thinking though, Allen is going to be a really good Dad.  He has a lot of patience...more than I have.   Most of the grand kids were there and he would sit and read stories with them and play with them....  I don't think he is going to be much of a baby daddy, but more of a toddler daddy which is just fine!!!
